super rare large Chinese bracket clock, built with heavy solid bronze case in ormolu finish, some patina on the surface due its age, time shows on a large white porcelain dial, covered by convex glass, surrounded by a ring of red and white paste stones, a large flower with leaf made with paste stones filling each corner of the dial frame, this clock has an 8 day movement with quarter strike every 15 minutes, on the hour strike, the clock chimes the number of the hour then the automaton starts to play, a series of glass tubes spinning just below the calabash and above the dial imitating waterfall, very impressive presentation, a large calabash on top of the clock case, on the lower section of the calabash, a group of paste stone formed flowers spins around as the automaton plays, a pineapple shape finial, full glass back door opens to the large brass movement, which engraved on the back plate, music plays on a group of bells as the automaton plays, maker stamped on the movement, the clock is in currently in working order, however due to its age, some cleaning and professional service are highly recommend, overall this clock measures about 37″ tall and 15″ by 12.
