The Rolex GMT-Master 16700 was introduced in 1988. It was the last of the GMT-Master watches to have the fixed 24-hour hand; on the GMT-Master II’s this hand could be adjusted separately.
A word of warning to buyers of this watch. Do not buy it if the seller cannot show you the movement photo. Always look for pictures of the movement. As shown here this is 100% authentic Rolex Calibre 3175 movement, 31 jewels. Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3175 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests.
