I read in Think and Grow Rich that Napoleon Hill had bought the most expensive suit and the most expensive shoes he could find before attending an extremely important, high stakes meeting, which would have either lead to great success and wealth, or nothing at all. The meeting was an astounding success, and Napoleon Hill attributes this to the clothing he bought prior to the meeting. He says that when you dress wealthy, you become wealthy; that the clothing you wear has a subconscious impact on the person you are, and who you are perceived to be by others.

This makes sense to me. However, I also have read numerous articles about millionaires who are wealthy because they are frugal, and because they don't buy lavish clothing and often shop at thrift stores and the like. So, I'm curious as to what your opinion is.
