PATEK PHILIPPE 3939 HP PLATINUM MINUTE REPEATER TOURBILLON ENAMEL DIAL
While modern Patek Philippe watches are growing larger and larger, the reference 3939 is a nod to classical styling and sizing. At its 33mm diameter, Patek’s master watchmakers had their work cut out for them, to build a minute repeating and tourbillon caliber that would fit into this case size. Of course, they succeeded with aplomb, and the reference 3939 is a very important and rare wristwatch. It’s aesthetic simplicity belies its status as a Grand Complication.
Case is solid platinum and the caselines are extremely clean with no superfluous design touches. This is the updated case with the large crown. Sapphire front and display back crystals.
White enamel dial with Breguet numerals and hands (also called Pomme hands). Subsidiary seconds dial. Note that the dial has the movement’s serial number printed on it – a distinction that Patek Philippe affords only to its tourbillon watches.
Movement is the very impressive manual winding Patek Philippe Caliber RTO 27 PS. Featuring minute repeater and one minute tourbillon complications, this caliber has 28 jewels, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in five positions, free-sprung balance and stamped with the Geneva Seal. Take a look at the movement picture of this watch; it’s both beautifully designed and built.
Strap is Patek crocodile with platinum Patek tang buckle.
Watch is indiscernible from new and will be delivered with Patek box and papers and second solid case back.
