Introduction: Date & Paperwork: Reference 530 was introduced to the market in 1937 until 1962. 25 years of production. The cases made by George Crosier. There was a 140 piece produced, 82 were produced in yellow gold, and there only 34 are known to exists in the market. Of the 34 known, 20 are 19 mm lugs (Tonneau). 15 known to have the 21.5 mm lugs (Calatrava). In rose gold there were 34 produced which 15 are known in the market. All the rose gold examples are 19 mm lugs. There were 24 examples in Steel, of which 10 have been identified back into the market with 19 mm lugs The 530 is one of Patek Philippe’s rarest chronograph models, which stands out by its impressive diameter overshadowing its smaller “sister model” by a substantial 4 mm. The wider version being more coveted by collectors. Interestingly, research shows that the pink gold examples exist only with one case type (19 mm.). Reference 530 is certainly one of the most exclusive and attractive collector watches a connoisseur can aspire to.
